Situated on over five acres of ponderosa pine studded land in the Upper Canyon, Dan Dee's thirteen cabins provide the casual comfort reminiscent of Ruidoso's earlier, simpler times.
There are some lawn areas on the grounds, but most of the property remains in its natural state offering a true forest experience.
Dan Dee's property provides a safe environment for outdoor fun and exploration.
Our forested location offers visitors an excellent opportunity to view native wildlife
Deer wander through almost daily, and bears and squirrels visit frequently during the summer.
Guests have reported seeing raccoon and an occasional fox. Skunks make their presence known from time to time.
The wooded environment also supports a variety of birds and butterflies.
Pesky critters - gnats, mosquitoes, ants, spiders - are a fact of life, but we do our best to keep our cabins free of them.
Groups and reunions can gather together while enjoying the privacy of their own cabin.
The seasons create starkly different scenery and conditions, and mountain weather can change in no time at all.
It is very important to be firewise! Smoking, barbeques, and fireplaces all must be managed properly. The forest can be very dry at times.
